We hope you're not too attached to either the Minecraft Java or Bedrock editions of one the most popular building games for PC. Microsoft and Mojang confirmed that they'll be removing them on June 7. You might be confused by the existence of two versions of Minecraft on PC that is the Java and Bedrock editions. PCGamesN has a useful guide to clarify the differences between the two, but regardless - if you paid for one, you won't have access to the other. Hexnet This is a bit absurd. Mojang and Microsoft are clearly in agreement with their announcement. They have announced (thanks to Neowin) the Minecraft Java Edition and Bedrock Edition. This single-purchase edition of Minecraft on PC replaces separate editions. The game will be available for purchase on June 7, and will be "the standard and sole offering of the vanilla Minecraft for Windows PC." Anyone who has either the Java or Bedrock editions will see it get upgraded to the combined edition, with no other purchase needed and should be done automatically - although "it could take anywhere from two to three days for the game to appear when we release it to all eligible players." Additionally, Minecraft players should be capable of playing across versions without any hassle. Mojang confirms that "Java and Bedrock will remain separate games with their own distinctive features," with the only difference being that you don't have to purchase them separately and can access both from the same Minecraft launcher. This is a good thing for everyone, except for those who recently bought both games separately. Regardless, it should make downloading Minecraft significantly easier.
